Kintsugi is the centuries-old Japanese art of repairing broken pottery using urushi lacquer mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. Rather than concealing cracks, kintsugi celebrates them—transforming broken pieces into something more beautiful and meaningful. This mindful practice symbolizes resilience, healing, and embracing imperfections, offering a powerful reminder that our scars and flaws can become part of a stronger, more unique whole.
In June, KINTO partnered with POJ Studio to bring a kintsugi workshop to our Los Angeles showroom. Attendees were invited to learn about the history of the practice, and bring their own broken KINTO pieces to start the process of repair.
