  • Stretchable nylon knit fabric

Made from lightweight and durable nylon thread, this knit fabric offers natural stretch that flexibly adapts to whatever you carry while maintaining its shape. The material has a calm, matte texture that blends seamlessly into everyday life.

  • Seamless WHOLEGARMENT construction

Each item is carefully made at a sock factory in Nagano Prefecture, Japan. Using a special seamless knitting technique called Wholegarment, the items are made in one piece, producing no material waste. Without seams, the fabric is also more resistant to tearing.

Material Story The process behind the product

  • 01Born from a sock factory

In Nagano, surrounded by fresh air and nature, a local sock factory creates these pieces. From development to manufacturing, the entire process is carried out in-house. Skilled artisans, attentive to the qualities of the yarn and the knit, draw on many years of expertise to craft each piece with care.

  • 02Wholegarment knitting

While socks are usually made on circular knitting machines, this bag is knitted on a flat knitting machine where the needles move side to side. Using a technique called Wholegarment, the bag is produced seamlessly, with no material wasted in the process. The lack of seams also makes it more resistant to tearing.

  • 03Shaping with time

Due to the nature of the yarn, the fabric is about one and a half times larger right after knitting, then naturally shrinks and settles into the specified size. Responding to humidity in the air and to the changing seasons, the knit behaves as though it were a living thing. Such a challenging material can only be handled by highly experienced artisans, whose skill has brought these pieces to life.

  • 04Embroidery

The embroidered logo on each item also reflects the skill and ingenuity of the artisans. The cylindrical embroidery frame used with the machine was specially modified for this bag. Because the embroidery is applied after knitting onto a very narrow surface, it required much trial and error to perfect.
